Overview of VPS Hosting

The term VPS hosting stands for virtual private server hosting. It bridges the gap between shared hosting and dedicated hosting services, as it provides better service, flexibility and independence at a cheap price than dedicated hosting and shared hosting. Although VPS hosts every website on the same physical machine but it allows each website to be fully independent as if they are working on distinct machines.

VPS is like an apartment or a container building, where you can install any software of your choice or can restart it, just like when you renovate your flat nobody gets affected. On a shared hosting server, if a problem arises with any one of the website, then it might put the whole server down, including the other websites which were associated with the respective server. However, in VPS hosting this would not happen because only the problematic would get affected whereas the others will remain unaffected. VPS provides you a guaranteed higher amount of CPU and RAM usage.

One must not opt. for VPS hosting  in a very initial stage of building website as it is expensive than shared hosting server but if you are expecting a significant increase in a next few months  or business expansion is taking place beyond shared hosting level, then you can go for it.

The VPS hosting works on two operating systems i.e. windows, linux . These both are the most popular platforms for internet servers. Windows VPS web hosting provides a facility to the user to work on the most common operating system of the world i.e. Windows.  Whereas linux VPS hosting enables those all users who work on linux  os.

Windows VPS web hosting have higher price tags, regular updates and a broader support base, however, linux web hosting is budget friendly, open source and good for simpler requirements.
